Cornell Agricultural Workforce Development offers several opportunities for online learning.
Our Agricultural Supervisory Leadership Certificate Program is offered to learners in the English and Spanish languages. Each course is made up of six weeks of instruction on topics aimed at building your leadership and management skills. Instruction includes a combination of prerecorded lectures, reading assignments, written exercises, live discussion sessions, and quizzes. For those looking to learn more on a particular topic, supplemental videos and articles may be recommended by the instructor. To get the most out of the course, students should plan to spend a minimum of two hours each week on combined course activities. Cornell Agricultural Workforce Development’s supervisory leadership program consists of six courses. Those who complete all six courses and achieve 70 percent or better on all weekly quizzes will receive an Agricultural Supervisory Leadership certificate.
The Agricultural English Mentorship Program (Programa de Mentoría de Inglés Agrícola) is available to Spanish-speaking learners. A mentor must register with the English learner and commit to 15 minutes of mentorship each week. Mentors do not need to know Spanish to participate. The dual goals are to teach specific farm terminologies and to strengthen relationships between the English-speaking mentors and their Spanish-speaking employees while learning English.
