Cornell Ag Workforce Development recently welcomed two talented student hires for the academic year, and we couldn’t be more excited! Grace Dunham and Molly Rejman bring a wealth of enthusiasm and diverse perspectives to our team.
As they settle into their roles, we look forward to collaborating with them on a variety of projects, from communications and outreach initiatives to research and data management. Their fresh insights will undoubtedly enhance our efforts to develop innovative solutions that address the challenges faced by the agricultural workforce.
Earlier this week we highlighted Grace’s introductory blog post and today we will highlight Molly’s:
Hello! My name is Molly Rejman and I am a senior in animal science with a concentration in dairy science and a minor in food and agriculture business. I grew up on my family’s dairy farm in Scipio Center, New York and went into school thinking that I wanted to go back to the farm.
After sophomore year I decided that I possibly wanted to pursue other things, and that summer I went down to West Texas where I worked for Blue Sky Farms. I fell in love with West Texas, and I learned so much about large farm management thanks to my boss, Josh McDonald. Josh really took the summer to teach me about leadership and people management since I was preparing to be the Cornell University Dairy Science Club president that year. I was amazed at how well his tactics worked on organizing a meeting and how to engage a team. I am super excited to be a part of the agricultural workforce team because it is going to give me the opportunity to build my leadership and human resource knowledge further to prepare me for going into the workforce this year.
This past summer I was in Chicago working for Fairlife as a marketing intern. I was working on finding potential new advertising opportunities for the company, and I loved how this opportunity allowed me to be creative and meet so many people from different backgrounds. I learned so much about the Coca-Cola company and was so intrigued by their system. This internship taught me that there are so many opportunities within the job industry and after graduation I plan on taking a job in a field that I am less familiar with to help me gain more prospective.
Thank you, Molly! We believe that the students’ contributions will not only enrich our team dynamics, but also help us better serve our community. Stay tuned for updates on their journey and the exciting developments that lie ahead!
