New York’s minimum wage went up in the parts of the state with significant agriculture. Long Island and Westchester County are now at $15.00, while the rest of the upstate will be at $13.20 for 2022.
Farm employers who use the H-2A program will use the Adverse Effect Wage Rate (AEWR) for foreign guest workers and domestic workers who do substantially the same job. AEWR varies by state and New York will be at $15.66 for 2022.
Remember to update your payroll systems accordingly.
