Labor Roadshow IX: Addressing Key Workforce Challenges in Agriculture

The Agricultural Workforce Development Council (AWDC) is pleased to announce that registration is now open for Labor Roadshow IX—a critical event for farm employers in New York State. As workforce issues continue to evolve, this event offers timely, expert-led sessions to help employers navigate complex labor challenges in the agricultural sector.

Labor Roadshow IX will address a wide range of current topics including immigration, unionization, overtime regulations, employee housing, workplace technology, and more. Designed for those who manage or employ agricultural labor, the Roadshow provides an important opportunity to stay informed and compliant with emerging legal and operational developments.

In-Person Events:

  • December 9 – Elks Lodge, Greenwich, NY

  • December 10 – Hilton Garden Inn, Watertown, NY

  • December 17 – Cornell AgriTech, Geneva, NY

  • December 18 – Genesee Community College, Batavia, NY

Virtual Sessions (featuring additional content not covered in person):

  • December 1, 12:00–2:00 PM

  • December 22, 12:00–2:00 PM

  • Immigration and Farm/Family Preparedness

  • Legal and Compliance Updates

  • Developments in Unionization (including updates from PERB and legal experts)

  • Employee Engagement and Workplace Culture

  • Employee Housing Operational Costs and Pest Management

  • Legal Considerations in Employee Monitoring Technologies

  • Communicating Effectively with Regulators and the Public on Labor Issues

Registration Includes:

  • Attendance at one in-person event

  • Access to a recording of an in-person session

  • Participation in both online sessions (December 1 and 22)
