Comment on regulations, the government needs to hear from employers
During the Biden administration, the U.S. Department of Labor issued an update to the H-2A regulations which the Trump administration has suspended, we wrote about this in detail in: 2024 H-2A “Final Rule” Suspended. The Trump administration is now engaging the formal rulemaking process to formally rescind the rule changes. As with any rulemaking process, it is important for farm employers to share their opinions about regulations that will affect them. No fees for a while for H-2A
The U.S. Department of Labor has issued a temporary suspension of all fees for the H-2A program beginning on September 2, 2025. The government is transitioning from a paper-based fee collection process to an electronic process. No end date for this fee holiday was specified, but they will announce an end date on the federal register in the future. Find all the details in this federal register notice.
