This free event is hosted by the Lake Ontario Fruit Program and addresses several topics, including:
- What you can’t say to workers about unionizing: Avoiding threats, interrogation, promises, and surveillance
- What you can say to workers about unionizing: Using facts, opinions, and experiences to make your case
- Unfair Labor Practices: The legal implications
- Farm Employer Q&A: Get answers to your questions
The webinar will not be recorded, and questions can be submitted anonymously so farm employers may ask about practices without risk. Participants are encouraged to submit questions when registering. PowerPoint slides used during the webinar will be available to registrants after the session.
Presenters include Dr. Bonnie Nelsen, Business Specialist at Cornell’s Lake Ontario Fruit Program; Dr. Richard Stup, Director of Cornell’s Agricultural Workforce Development Center; and attorney Joshua Viau, Co-regional Managing Partner at Fisher Phillips law firm.
