Salary Minimum Wage Also Went up

Most employers are familiar with the increases in New York’s hourly minimum wage. As of December 31, 2018, the hourly wage rate is now $12.00/hour in Long Island and Westchester and $11.10/hour in all of upstate New York. It’s important to note that employees who are paid on a salary basis also received an increase in the minimum weekly wage. For 2019 the weekly salary minimum wage is:

  • $832/week in Upstate New York, and
  • $900/week in Long Island and Westchester.
