Worker Housing “Orientation Guide” in Spanish

Housing is a valuable benefit that many farmers provide for employees. In many cases, employees take good care of the housing and the farmer-landlord provides any repairs or updates on a timely basis. Unfortunately, that’s not always the case. There are other situations where the housing provided is really not adequate to begin with or the employees or the farmer-landlord doesn’t hold up their responsibilities for cleaning and maintenance of the facility. In many of these situations, a lack of knowledge about housing, poor training, and weak communications combine to make the situation worse. Members of the Agricultural Workforce Development Coalition worked together to develop housing management resources which you can find on the Cornell Agricultural Workforce Development website, including some Spanish-language material.

The Orientation Guide for Occupants of Farm Housing is designed to help managers and housing occupants better learn and communicate about using and maintaining systems commonly found in farm-provided housing. I am super-pleased to announce that we now have the Orientation Guide in Spanish!

Check out all of our housing resources on the Worker Housing page.
